In less lofty but more practical terms, Dr. Thaler will demonstrate why spitting into a test tube may become the most risky thing you’ll ever be asked to do. He'll explain the evolutionary DNA code, how it works, and the profound ways in which this knowledge is about to transform every aspect of our legal, biomedical and social environment. In particular, he'll discuss why ‘genomic medicine’ will make or break any health care system of the future.

Dr. Michael Thaler is currently Professor of History at UC Santa Cruz and was previously Professor of Pediatrics, Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and Director of NIH Research Training Program in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at UC San Francisco.
