Jim Macllvaine, the special events coordinator for the city of Oakland and the Board President of the SF Lamplighters music theatre here in SF that just recently performed My Fair Lady at the Yuerba Buena Center for the Arts.

Jim is a 46 year East Bay resident, growing up in Piedmont and attending San Francisco State University where he earned a degree in Broadcasting.

Before joining the City of Oakland, he spent 16 years in the broadcast industry working for K101 radio, TV-20 and KQED Ch. 9 where he switched from production operations to special events and marketing. He was the marketing director of Jack London Square for five years and then joined the city's marketing office in November 2001. Currently he is the Special Events Coordinator and produces the annual Art & Soul festival during the summer along with many other civic events and celebrationsfor Oakland.

In his spare time, he performs in light operas anmusicals with the San Francisco Lamplighters Music Theatre and serves as their Board President. He lives in Glenview district of Oakland with his wife and has two grown daughters.
