Howard Maccabee was the founding president of DDP (Doctors for Disaster Preparedness) and is currently on the Board of Directors. He received the Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in 1996, with dissertation research on radiation biophysics. After MD from Miami University in 1975 and residency in Radiation Oncology at UCSF, he was the Medical Director of the Radiation Oncology Center at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, CA for 25 years, and is now a consultant. He has been on the clinical faculty of UCSF and Stanford Medical Center. He has published widely and given more than 100 presentations on science and medicine.
